Assalamu Alaykum,
Rania is a 19-year-old Palestinian-American Muslim and a(n unofficial) Writer of no specific genre. At age ten, she was wrongly deceived that her childhood diaries rendered her qualified for a career in journalism. For obvious reasons, she still operates under that misconception as she is now a proud member of the UMN School of Journalism &Mass Communication. Rania’s hobbies include writing poetry, Islamic articles and 12-page papers moments before they’re due. She likes books–lots and lots and lots of books (preferably non-fiction)–as well as leather journals that appear to have fallen out of a Lord of the Rings movie. Why?
Just ’cause, she says.
Although a typically content person, Rania is easily irritated by squiggly red lines that blemish her name as it is typed. Thanks Microsoft, she says, for not recognizing her name. She is random, so oftentimes her thoughts beg for order, but that’s not important. What’s important is her newest milestone—writing as a columnist for the Minnesota Daily—to which she is very grateful.
Her work is far from perfect; your comments, thoughts, suggestions, corrections and anything else you have in mind are therefore welcome.
Barak’Allahu Feekum,
Was-Salamu Alaykum.
SalamuAlikum Rania,
))
Your name just reminded of a former student of mine who is also a Palestinian American. I thought you might be sisters or cousins but salam; my student lives in CA. Then I was like, probably you belong to the same family though
Wa’Alaykum Assalaam,
Hmmm, maybe if I knew her last name I could tell you if we’re related.
Wishing the best to my Muslim sisters and brothers in CA!!!
Wassalaamu Alaykum,
Rania Abuisnaineh
